Orion Welcomes Michelle Coughlin as Senior Vice President of Client Services

Orion Mobility has hired Michelle Coughlin as its senior vice president of client services. In this position, Coughlin will work closely with clients and Orion’s technology and operations staffs to enhance the client experience.

Coughlin brings 22 years of global mobility experience; most recently, she was manager of relocation for CarMax.

IRS Releases 2018 Withholding Tables

The IRS has released the 2018 withholding tables (IRS Notice 1036). The tables should be used as soon as possible, but not starting later than February 15, 2018. Until implemented, the IRS recommends continuing to use 2017 tables.

2018 Mileage Rates Announced

On December 14, the IRS announced the 2018 mileage rates. The business mileage rate has been increased from $0.535/mile in 2017 to $0.545/mile in 2018. The final move deductible rate has also been increased from $0.17/mile in 2017 to $0.18/mile in 2018.

Tax Reform & Relocation: What You Need to Know

While tax reform is still being debated and nothing has been finalized, we'll take a closer look at the differences between the House’s original bill passed on November 16 and the Senate’s version passed on December 2. Congress has begun the process of trying to reconcile the differences with hopes of having a final bill by the end of this week. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act would then be sent to the House and Senate for a final vote probably next week.

FICA Wage Base Adjusted Downward to $128,400
